PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit for protecting a line driver and a motor system therewith which protect a line driver from a surge voltage applied from external output terminals of the line driver.SOLUTION: A protection circuit 20 for protecting a line driver 1 from a surge voltage applied from external output terminals 4a-4c is inserted between output signal lines 3a-3c of the line driver 1 and a ground. The protection circuit 20 includes Zener diodes 21a-21c having anode terminals connected to the output signal lines 3a-3c and cathode terminals connected to the ground.
