PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sideways proximity of mobile objects from being repeatedly notified.SOLUTION: A proximity notification device monitors lateral directions with respect to a travelling direction of a vehicle, measures a distance to a mobile object when detecting the same, obtains a predetermined index value on the basis of a measurement result, and notifies a driver of proximity of the mobile object on the basis of magnitude relation between the index value and a notification threshold value. When a plurality of mobile objects come closer to the vehicle in succession, the proximity notification device does not start notification with respect to subsequent mobile object after notifying the proximity of a lead mobile object. Thus, the proximity notification device does not notify the driver of all the mobile objects coming closer from the lateral directions in succession and can prevent the proximity of the mobile objects from being repeatedly notified. |
