PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time of post ageing in a process of transferring a toner image on a photoreceptor drum surface onto a recording medium by use of an ion conductive transfer roller, while maintaining effects of reducing ion polarization and preventing degradation in the transfer roller.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises: a photoreceptor drum 21; a charging unit 22; an exposure unit 23; a developing unit 24; an ion conductive transfer roller 251; a transfer bias applying unit 25 for applying a transfer bias that is in an opposite polarity to toner charges to the transfer roller 251; a conveying unit 3; and a control unit 10. During double-sided printing, the control unit 10 controls the transfer bias applying unit 25 to apply an inverse bias in the same polarity as the toner charges to the transfer roller 251 while the recording paper P is reversed and again conveyed to a toner image transfer position. |
