PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame detection in a no-flame region of a gas turbine.SOLUTION: A gas turbine 100 includes a combustor 120 having an inlet in fluid communication with an air source, a combustion chamber and a no-flame region between the inlet and the combustion chamber. A gas turbine flame detection system 200 includes a flame detector 201 in photonic communication with a no-flame region and disposed to emit a signal in response to a photon emitted in the no-flame region; and a controller 210 in communication with the flame detector and arranged to determine whether a flame presence in the no-flame region is indicated responsive to the signal. |
