The laser amplifier system (10) has resonator (18) in which amplifier mediums (28) are arranged. The resonator arrangement (12) is provided with resonator mirrors (22,40,52), frequency-selective element (34) that is located between the resonator mirrors, translation devices (46,58) that are positioned by displacement of resonator mirrors (40,52) respectively, and tuning element (35) for tuning transmittance of frequency-selective element. An independent claim is included for method for stabilizing frequency of laser radiation field of laser amplifier system.
