PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide techniques for identifying more easily the cause of a communication error that has occurred in a system having a controller and a controlled device.SOLUTION: A host communication I/F 11 in a converter 10 is detachably connected with a controller that generates a first control signal for controlling a peripheral device 3. A communication conversion unit 32 converts the first control signal input via the host communication I/F 11 to a second control signal. A device communication I/F 12 is detachably connected with the peripheral device 3 to communicate the second control signal converted by the communication conversion unit 32 to the peripheral device 3. A host signal analysis unit 31 detects the state of the system controller 2 connected to the host communication I/F 11 on the basis of the first control signal.
