PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing insertion paper for glass which prevents the occurrence of a scratch and the like by being inserted between glass substrates to which high surface properties are requested, and to provide insertion paper for glass produced by the same.SOLUTION: The method for producing insertion paper for glass uses a material containing used paper or recycled paper and includes subjecting the material to an ultraviolet irradiation treatment to break the C=C double bond of acrylamide in the material to modify acrylamide. The insertion paper for glass includes a material in which acrylamide is modified and shows an organic stain of 0.1% or less in an area ratio which is transferred to the surface of the insertion paper when pushed against a glass substrate.
