The method involves sensing (101) dynamic data with a corresponding vehicle sensor, while operating a vehicle in a location at times, and recording frequency of the dynamic data in a range of 0.1-10 Hz. The collected dynamic data and the topography data are stored (102) in a digital map (105) of a road. A statistical evaluation of the dynamic data and the topography data is determined (103), based on the data stored in the digital road map. A drive train (106) of the vehicle is controlled (104), based on the statistical evaluation of the dynamic data and the topography data.
