摘要
351,421. Driving textile machines. VARIABLE POWER TRANSMISSIONS, Ltd., 7, Poultry, and LOVELL, G., 74, Wornholt Road, Shepherd's Bush, both in London. March 24, 1930, No. 9430. [Classes 142 (i) and 142 (iv).] Speed, varying. -A variablespeed toothed reducing gear of very limited ratio factor is placed between the source of power and the loom, slasher, beaming machine, or other textile machine, so that the speed may be varied while the machine is running to suit varying conditions. In the form shown in the Figure, an electric motor 21 drives a pulley 25 through a change-speed gear 23, the machine being driven through reduction means comprising a belt 27 and a large pulley. In other forms, a belt engages fast and loose pulleys on a variable-speed reduction gear, the loom or machine being driven by chain and sprocket gearing. The sprocket of the reduction gear may be on the same or on the opposite end to that of the fast and loose pulleys. The variable gearing may be of the kind described in Specifications 212,483 and 331,292, [both in Class 80 (ii), Gearing, Variable-speed &c.].
