The present invention relates to method and apparatus for treating animal carcasses by alkaline hydrolysis, comprising the steps of: injecting animal carcasses into a reaction chamber; filling the reaction chamber with reaction water comprising a fixed concentration of hydrolysis alkaline solution and water; applying pressure to the inside of the chamber by sealing the chamber and heating the reaction water; performing the hydrolysis for the animal carcasses by stirring them for a fixed time; performing a first neutralization by aerating with CO2 gas through lowering the pressure and temperature of the hydrolyzed carcass treatment solution; and performing a second neutralization by adding a citric acid neutralizer after discharging the first neutralized solution to a storage tank. The present invention liquefies the animal carcasses by using an alkaline hydrolysis solution in the reaction chamber, and neutralizes the liquefied carcass treatment solution with CO2 gas and citric acid, which does not generate pollutants. In addition, the processing energy can be saved by reducing the incinerating and cremating time, and the liquefied carcass solution can be used for organic matter liquid fertilizer by being neutralized into pH7. |
