<p>The method involves applying element current in a neck region to detect change of bio-impedance during an approximation of the larynx and the epiglottis by voltage measuring element. The combined electrode is attached to the tongue nerves at predetermined position, to determine position of the tongue and to stimulate the tongue nerve. The airway obstruction is detected by voltage sensing element during sleep. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) sleep detection system; (2) cuff electrode for measuring bio impedance and stimulation of tongue; and (3) implant.</p> |
