PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and compact examination device capable of improving the examination quality by providing an examiner with an examination image of high visibility of a defect using a camera having a usual resolution, and to provide an examination device allowing the same examiner to take charge also of examination of different power generation plants without examination at the side. SOLUTION: This examination device includes an image input device 103 for taking examination video and outputting an image of digital data, an image selecting device 104 for selecting the examination image used for the examination from the image output from the image input device 103 based on the feature amount of the image, a high-resolution image creating unit 105 for creating, from the examination image, a high-resolution image with a resolution higher than that of the examination image, and an image recognizing device 106 for displaying the examination image and high-resolution image.
