The device has a ducting system for guiding a current of air, and including a section downstream of a drum (2) in which the current of air is directed downwardly. A filter (8) is disposed within the section for capturing lint carried in the current of air from the drum. A receptacle has an aperture for receiving the lint scraped off the filter, and has two interlinked shell elements separated from each other. The shell elements define a storage volume within the receptacle to accommodate the scraped-off lint.
