PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical connector assembly that is not extracted out of a receptacle connector, even if a cable of a cable connector receives an unexpected force. SOLUTION: Either a cable connector 10 or a receptacle connector 50 has a lock projection part 21 projecting from a side wall surface, and the other has a lock trench part 57 formed and recessed on the side wall surface. The lock trench part 57 is provided with a projection part 59 projecting backward inside of the trench on a front edge of trench of a trench inlet part, and a guide inclination part 57B-1 tilted forward as approaching to advancing fitting direction within a range including the projection part 59 and extending extended ahead of the projection part 59 in the fitting direction, at a rear edge of the trench. In positions taken at the end of the fitting of the connector, a distance in the front/rear direction between the rearmost position of the projection part 59 of the lock trench part 57 and the forefront position of the guide inclination part at the rear edge of the trench is shorter than that in the front/rear direction between the forefront position of the projection front edge of the lock projection part 21 and the rearmost position of the projection rear edge.
