A lighting apparatus is provided so that the heat generated in the power supply circuit section can be fully radiated. The lighting apparatus includes a light source module 1, a power supply circuit section 6 supplying power to the light source module 1, a heat radiating section 3 accommodating the power supply circuit section 6 inside and radiating the heat generated in the power supply circuit section 6, a base 5 connected to an external power supply, and an insulating ring 4 provided between the heat radiating section 3 and the base 5 and making electrical insulation. With regard to the lighting apparatus, the insulating ring 4 is a thermal conductor. Since the insulating ring 4 functions as the thermal conductor, the heat generated in the power supply circuit section 6 can be transferred to the heat radiating section 3 and the base 5 via the insulating ring 4 so that the heat can be radiated to outside from the heat radiating section 3 and the base 5. The base 5 can also be used as a heat radiating member, therefore, the heating area can be enlarged so that the heat from the power supply circuit section 6 can be fully radiated. |
