The present invention relates to a monoclonal antibody specifically binding to Lawsonia intracellularis, hybridoma cells producing the same, a detection kit for Lawsonia intracellularis including the monoclonal antibody and a method for detecting Lawsonia intracellularis by using the monoclonal antibody. The monoclonal antibody of the present invention can selectively recognize only Lawsonia intracellularis strains to be useful in diagnosing proliferative ileitis of pigs.
