[Class 53.] The plug sockets 4 of a battery are open at both ends, a space 5 being left behind the sockets to enable the plugs to be inserted their full length. The sockets may be situated in a side of the casing, the top of which is closed. The battery may be enclosed i n an outer casing 6 provided with a slot 7 which exposes the sockets, and the slot 7 may be initially sealed with a strip of paper, celluloid, &c. 8.
