A video phone system is provided to enable a video mobile communication terminal of a sending side to make video calls or voice calls even though a receiving side is not a video mobile communication terminal, during a video call request. A video/voice processing device(28) is used when a user of a sending side's video mobile communication terminal(10A or 10B) performs video communication with a user of a receiving side's non-video mobile communication terminal(12 or 14), who subscribes for a video communication server(38) and logs in by driving a video communication-only application of a computer(16). The video/voice processing device decodes video/voice encoding signals received from the sending side's terminal to separate a video signal from a voice signal, and delivers the separated voice signal to the receiving side's terminal through an existing network as sending the video signal to the receiving user's computer over the Internet. |
