The present invention relates to a method for preparing ethanol using brewery byproducts. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for preparing ethanol for fuel, using lees which are byproducts of fermented alcoholic drink, such as alcoholic drink or unrefined alcoholic drink, or distillation residues which are byproducts of hard liquors. According to the present invention, the lees and distillation residues having low utility in the conventional art are used to produce ethanol at high yields, thereby maximizing the utility of useful resources. In addition, the alcohol fermentation temperature is raised at the time of fermentation, thereby promoting saccharification by the diastatic enzyme, generate ethanol and reduce the costs for cooling the fermented liquid.
