The present invention relates to a photovoltaic system comprising: a photovoltaic module for collecting solar light and generating electricity; a sprinkler for performing a watering function to clean the photovoltaic module; an air compressor for compressing air and blowing the compressed air to remove snow drifts on the photovoltaic module; a pump for supplying water to the sprinkler by pressurizing water supplied from a water source; a contamination measuring sensor for measuring contamination of the photovoltaic module; a snow drifts sensor for sensing whether snow is accumulated on the photovoltaic module; a controller for controlling the sprinkler to operate when the contamination measuring sensor detects the contamination of the photovoltaic module, and the air compressor to operate when the snow drifts sensor senses snow is accumulated on the photovoltaic module; a water recollecting apparatus for storing water after recollecting the water sprayed by the sprinkler to use the water repeatedly; and a monitoring system for monitoring an overall state of the photovoltaic system, which includes operations of the sprinkler and the air compressor, quantity of electricity generated, an amount of insolation and a temperature of the photovoltaic module.
