The present invention relates to a device and a method for testing a tire tread which can measure the abrasion of a tire tread and test the one-sided wear and defects of a tire tread by using a laser beam and a machine vision. In the present invention, a shape of the laser beam on the tire tread is recognized by a camera. The prevent invention converts the data of the tire tread which is obtained by the recognition of the camera into length, calculates the abrasion based on the depth of the tire tread, determines the one-sided wear and defects of the tire tread, and provided information to a driver. Furthermore, the present invention can increase the accuracy of the calculation of the abrasion using a laser beam by determining whether foreign materials exist on a tread portion based on images obtained by the camera. |
