A dummy bar for continuous casting machine comprises a head and a body consisting of a flexible steel tape covered on both sides by upper and lower half-sections and connected to each other, while adjacent upper half-sections are docked using projections and appropriate depressions. The half-section is additionally equipped with damping elements installed between the flexible steel tape and upper half-sections of the dummy bar body.
