A dehumidifying method and a humidifying apparatus are provided to cool or dry a dehumidifying agent of high temperature moving from a reproducing zone before the dehumidifying agent is cooled at a cooling zone to improve the cooling efficiency or dehumidifying efficiency. A dehumidifying rotor(1) consists of a carrier having a ventilation cavity in an axial direction and a dehumidifying agent carried by the carrier. Opening planes(4a,4b) of the dehumidifying rotor are divided into a dehumidifying zone(7), a reproducing zone(8), and a cooling zone(9). While the dehumidifying rotor is rotating, air to be processed is supplied to the dehumidifying zone, reproducing gas to the reproducing zone, and cooling gas to the cooling zone. Dehumidification of air to be processed and reproduction of the dehumidification agent are performed successively. A function zone(10) is formed between the reproducing zone and the cooling zone. Function zone ventilation gas is supplied to the function zone to cool or dry the dehumidifying rotor. Velocity of function zone ventilation gas supplied to the function zone is 0.5-10 times as fast as velocity of the cooling gas supplied to the cooling zone. A ratio of an area of the opening plane of the dehumidifying rotor to an area of the function zone is 0.003-0.07. |
