PURPOSE: A device for encoding/decoding a sampled color image obtained by using CFA and a method thereof are provided to reduce the size of data generated by the conversion of a YUV color coordinate system by converting the sampled color image into a color image of the YUV color coordinate system and encoding the converted image.
