A control method of intermittent grinding includes determination and comparison of maximum current and maximum allowable temperatures of grinding. The current temperature is determined indirectly, for example on the basis of measured power of grinding. The maximum permissible temperature is determined preliminarily at the time of occurrence of a defect layer according to the equation of relation between the temperature, on the one hand, and the power parameters of grinding on the other hand. At the same time the moment of formation of a defect layer is determined by the grinding parameter change while controlling transition of the material from non-defective state to defective state. Poor state is determined by comparing the physical and mechanical properties of the material in previous and subsequent time moment or by comparing the properties of deep layers of material with the properties of a thin surface layer at indicated moments of time. The maximum current and maximum allowable (critical) temperatures of intermittent grinding is determined based on the maximum diameter of the grinding wheel, length of the cutting lug and length of its depression. |
