<p>The prevent invention relates to event processing technology. An event processing system performs event processing to input data. The event processing system includes an event definition engine and an event processing engine. The event definition engine defines an event by using a plurality of event components which are individual function units for event processing and a plurality of event component wrappers setting a hierarchical structure of the event components by wrapping the components. The event processing engine processes the event according to the hierarchical structure of the components. According to the invention, the complexity and freedom of the event are provided by expressing various event definitions by making the event components for event definition and hierarchically combining the components.
