A method for water distribution in a fuel cell stack is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of: providing a fuel cell stack having multiple unit cells and dummy cells for temperature measurement; partitioning the whole region of the fuel cell stack into multiple regions; installing temperature sensors in the dummy cell of the partitioned region, respectively; cooling the fuel cell stack at low temperatures in state of stopping the fuel cell after running it for a while; measuring the temperature of each partitioned region through the temperature sensors; predicting water amount on each region by the phase changing time of the water in the fuel cell stack and the temperature value of the region.
