<p>[Problem] To provide a vibration device and a portable terminal using the same that can be made thin, and whereby a strong vibration can be generated. [Solution] A vibration device and a portable terminal using the same, the vibration device having at least: a support body (11); a vibration plate (12) having a first portion (12a) joined to the support body (11), an edge of the first portion (12a) being joined to and supported by the support body (11), and a second portion (12b) positioned inside of the first portion (12a) and not joined to the support body (11); and a vibrating element (14) which undergoes bending vibration in a first direction so that the amplitude of vibration varies along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction in response to inputting of an electric signal, a surface on one side in the first direction of the vibrating element (14) being joined to the second portion (12b) on a principal surface on one side of the vibration plate (12); a spacing (d1) between the vibrating element (14) and the first portion (12a) in a third direction perpendicular to the first direction and the second direction being larger than a spacing (d2) between the vibrating element (14) and the first portion (12a) in the second direction.</p> |
