PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique relating to a fuel battery manufacturing method.SOLUTION: A fuel battery manufacturing method includes: a lamination step of generating a fuel battery cell by laminating a power generator material containing a membrane electrode assembly jointed to an electrode catalyst layer and a continuous porous metal foam forming a gas passage, and a separator on both faces of an electrolyte membrane in a predetermined direction; a fastening step of fastening a cell laminate formed by plural fuel battery cells in a lamination direction with a fastening pressure in the lamination direction; prior to the fastening step, a pressure applying step of applying a predetermined pressure of the fastening pressure or more on at least one of two end faces of the lamination direction of the metal foam in the lamination direction; and a deviation material removing step for removing a deviation material deviated from the metal foam by applying the predetermined pressure.
