PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autoinducer-2 inhibitor effective for prevention and/or treatment of infectious diseases such as a periodontal disease.SOLUTION: An autoinducer-2 inhibitor includes a compound expressed by any of formulae (1) to (3) as an active ingredient. In the formulae, Rrepresents an alkyl group having 3 to 12 carbon atoms; Rrepresents H or an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, can be mutually bonded to an OH group bonded to a benzene ring and may form a ring; and Rand Reach independently represents an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms. |
