PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting facility and a sorting method with high operation efficiency, in which preceding picking can be performed without waiting for the vacancy of a temporary placing table.SOLUTION: An article 11 to be put in a collected article container 10 in a branch conveying unit B2 is subjected to preceding picking from a storage shelf 17 to a temporary placing container 83 before the collected article container 10 is branched and conveyed to the branch conveying unit B2. A plurality of temporary placing containers 83 are placed on a temporary placing table 90, and the correspondence of the article 11 in the temporary placing container 83 with the collected article container 10 into which it is to be put is displayed on a wireless display 85 attached to the temporary placing container 83. Accordingly, an operator H in charge of input can acquire, even when a plurality of temporary containers 83 are present, into which of the collected article containers 10 the article 11 stored in each temporary placing container 83 is to be put without confusion, and an operator H in charge of preceding picking can continuously perform preceding picking without bothering the operation progress of the operator H in charge of input. Consequently, the operation efficiency can be enhanced. |
