PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance measuring apparatus capable of enhancing the precision of distance measuring based on a color picture of a plurality of colors obtained from light having undergone pupil color splitting.SOLUTION: A distance measuring apparatus comprises: an imaging optical system 10 that forms an image of an object; a pupil color splitting filter 14 that subjects the pupil of the imaging optical system 10 to color splitting; a color imaging element 11 that photo-electrically converts the formed image of the object to output a picture; a pixel interpolating calculator 35 that generates interpolating pixels for pixels arrayed in a plurality of color pictures obtained by subjecting to color separation the picture outputted from the imaging element 11; a pixel deviation detector 33 that synthesizes the color pictures obtained by the color separation and the interpolating pixels generated by the pixel interpolating calculator 35 to generate a plurality of interpolating color pictures and detects the quantities of relative deviation of the image of the object among the plurality of interpolating color pictures to generate information on the distance of the object; and a distance calculator 34. |
