PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for packaging machinery, capable of specifying a small piece of foreign matter which is carried by air and passes in front of an optical device in imaging of a product, and to sort out even a permanent contamination showing a defect in the product.SOLUTION: In an inspection method of a product 4 in packaging machinery, the product 4 is a group of cigarettes wrapped in a packaging material, and the machinery is a machine for wrapping a package of cigarettes, or the product 4 is a group of packages of cigarettes wrapped in a packaging material, and the machinery is a machine for wrapping the group of packages of cigarettes. The method includes steps of advancing the product 4 by a conveyor of the machine; and processing an acquired image of one face 4a of the product 4 advanced by the conveyor to specify at least a part 14 brighter or darker than an image corresponding to a defect-free product 4, which can exist in the image. |
