PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type water heater capable of suppressing temperature variation of hot water to be tapped even when temperature of hot water entering a hot water side of a mixing valve for hot water supply is changed.SOLUTION: A storage type water heater includes: a means for performing boiling operation of storing heated high-temperature water in a hot water storage tank 8; a mixing valve 22 for mixing low-temperature water supplied from a water source and high-temperature water delivered from an upper part of the hot water storage tank 8 and capable of adjusting the mixing ratio; a thermistor 46 for detecting temperature of the hot water after the temperature is adjusted by the mixing valve 22; a control means for controlling the mixing ratio of the mixing valve 22 so that the temperature detected by the thermistor 46 becomes a predetermined target temperature when tapping operation from a faucet 34 is performed; and a changing means for changing the mixing ratio in the control means to a mixing ratio suitable for a state of high-temperature water flowing to the mixing valve 22 when operation change due to start or stop of the boiling operation is performed during execution of the tapping operation.
