PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter capable of maintaining the filtering capacity for a long period.SOLUTION: A to-be-filtered water inlet of a strainer 25 attached to the end of a to-be-filtered water pipe 10 is in the form of slits 30 extending in the rotating direction of a filter vessel, and grains of a filter medium are moved along each slit 30 through movement of the strainer 25 within the filter medium by rotating the filter vessel in the direction of the axis during backwashing. Then, deposit clogging the slits 30 is peeled and removed effectively under the abrading action of the filter medium, and choking due to clogging of the slits 30 of the strainer 25 is thus prevented, leading to maintenance of the filtering capacity for a long period. |
