PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide container-packed cut lettuces wherein sterilized cut lettuce pieces are packed in containers and which are hardly browned and keep the appearance even after preserved, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: Container-packed cut lettuces wherein sterilized cut lettuce pieces are container-packed in a container are characterized in that material lettuces are container-packed in containers and transported from a farm to a processing plant in a state that the root sides of ≥70% of the material lettuces are downward and/or upward directed; and the amount of organic substances adhered to the surface of cut lettuces preserved at a temperature of 0-15°C for one day after produced and then taken out from the container is ≤40 ppm as COD of washing water obtained by dipping and washing 50g of the cut lettuce with 500 mL of fresh water. A method for producing the same is also provided. |
