PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition device which is capable of properly acquiring distance information while suppressing power consumption, and an object detection device.SOLUTION: An information acquisition device 2 comprises: a projection optical system 100 projecting a target area with laser light, which is emitted from a laser light source 110, in a predetermined dot pattern; a light-receiving optical system 200 imaging the target area by a CMOS image sensor 240; a laser control section 21a controlling the laser light source 110; and a distance acquisition section 21b, on the basis of a reference image which is captured by the light-receiving optical system 200 when a reference plane is irradiated with laser light, and an actually measured image which is captured by the CMOS image sensor 240 during actual measurement, acquiring distance information regarding a distance to an object included in the target area. The laser control section 21a turns off the laser light source 110 on the basis of matching of a state of the target area to a predetermined stop condition indicating that it is not necessary to acquire the distance information. |
