PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for an electrochemical element, preventing fibers from sticking to a wire for paper making, excellent in paper making stability, having no pin holes, and excellent in withstand voltage and dendrite resistance, and an electrochemical element including the separator for an electrochemical element.SOLUTION: A separator for an electrochemical element is made of wet-laid nonwoven fabric containing a synthetic short fiber and a cotton pulp as an essential component. The cotton pulp has a modified freeness of 90-160 ml, and a length-weighted average fiber length of 0.80-1.20 mm. An electrochemical element includes the separator for an electrochemical element. |
