PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pellet producing method and a pellet producing device, in which overload of a motor driven in a drying step is prevented and flowing-in of a resin material of defective formation is suppressed.SOLUTION: A pellet producing method includes: a forming step 3 of forming a pellet using a molten resin material; a transporting step 4 of transporting the pellet formed in the forming step along a flow passage 5 using water; and a drying step 6 of drying the pellet by accommodating the pellet transported together with water through the flow passage 5 in a rotary tank 6a and removing water while driving the rotary tank 6a by a motor 6b. In the transporting step 4, a part of water is recovered in the flow passage 5 between the forming step 3 and the drying step 6 and the pellet is transported together with remaining water to the drying step 6. A quantity of water flowing into the drying step 6 is controlled according to a current value of the motor 6b in the transporting step 4.
