摘要 PURPOSE: An EGR control method for a diesel engine is provided to precisely control the amount of air provided to the combustion chamber by applying a compensation map according to the temperature of cooling water to determine low-pressure EGR rate. CONSTITUTION: An EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) control method for a diesel engine comprises the steps of: detecting driving information including the rpm and load of an engine and cooling water temperature, if the cooling water temperature is lower than a first reference temperature(S102), stopping low-pressure EGR(S103), carrying out PID(Proportional Integral Differential) control of high-pressure EGR(S104), if the cooling water temperature is over the first reference temperature and lower than a second reference temperature(S105), carrying out open-loop control of high- and low-pressure EGR(S106), if the cooling water temperature is over the second reference temperature(S109), determining the target EGR rate according to the engine rpm and load(S110), and carrying out feedback control of high- and low-pressure EGR at the same time to follow up the target EGR rate(S111).
