An embodiment of the present invention provides a digital broadcast transmitting method comprising the following steps of: multiplexing video data, audio data, and auxiliary data including an event information table (EIT) and a program map table (PMT) into an MPEG-2 transport stream; wherein the EIT and the PMT include a caption descriptor including caption information, and the caption descriptor includes the caption information indicating whether caption data included in the video data is data providing a digital closed caption service according to electronic industry association (EIA)-708 or the caption data is caption data providing an analog closed caption service; and modulating the multiplexed MPEG-2 transport stream into a broadcast signal and transmitting the broadcast signal. |
