PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a period of time from when operation is performed by a user to when an image drawn is displayed to be reduced in a configuration in which drawing is performed on the basis of indication positions formed by the operation of the user and the image drawn is displayed.SOLUTION: A projection system 1 comprises a PC 100 and a projector 10. The projector 10 comprises: a detection control section 32 that detects position input operation, obtains input coordinates and outputs the input coordinates to the PC 100; a drawing control section 33 that performs drawing processing for generating an image based on the input coordinates obtained by the detection control section 32; and an overlay control section 34 that superimposes the image generated by the drawing control section 33 on an image generated on the basis of image data output by the PC 100. The PC 100 generates the image based on the input coordinates output by the projector 10 and outputs the image data including the image generated to the projector 10.
