PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device embodied in a small and simple construction and capable of establishing an energy saving performance.SOLUTION: A brake device 101 is equipped with an input shaft 1 having a first shaft part 1a and a first flange 1c, an output shaft 2, a brake disc 4 rotating in a single piece with the output shaft 2 and confronting the first flange 1c, a first brake pad 5, a second brake pad 6 fixed to the brake device 101, a spacing adjusting part (steel ball 10 and engaging groove 1c2), and a coil spring 11. The spacing adjusting part is pressed by the coil spring 11 through the brake disc 4 and approaches the first flange 1c and brake disc 4 to each other so that the coil spring 11 presses the first brake pad 5 to the second brake pad 6. When thereafter the input shaft 1 is rotated, the spacing adjusting part separates the first flange 1c and brake disc 4 from each other, and the brake disc 4 is pressed to the first flange 1c by the coil spring 11 in such a manner that they can rotate integrally. |
