PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffuser for an inflator and an airbag apparatus that can reduce gas leakage even a structure having a gap between an inflator and its supporting member.SOLUTION: A diffuser 4 for an inflator has a tubular shape whose first opening portion 41 has a diameter that can fit around the head 22 of the inflator 2 on which orifices 21 are formed, and a second opening portion 42 has a diameter lager than the head 22 of the inflator 2. When the first opening portion 41 is fit in a lower position than the orifices 21, the second opening portion 42 is arranged at a position upper than the orifices 21, and the diffuser 4 is arranged so as to have a constant gap &Dgr;g between the upper end portion Pr of the surrounding portion 31 of a retainer 3 arranged around the outer circumference of the head 22 of the inflator 2. |
