PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cemented carbide capable of compatibly attaining thermal crack resistance and wear resistance while maintaining initial chipping resistance.SOLUTION: A cemented carbide containing WC particles satisfies an inequality (I): α/α≤1.25, where αdenotes a coefficient of linear expansion at 500°C, and α1,000 denotes the coefficient of linear expansion at 1,000°C. An average particle diameter D of the WC particles is 0.7-4.0 μm, and a percentage of the particles having diameters of ≤0.5d out of the WC particles is ≤20% with respect to the total particle number of the WC particles, where d denotes the average diameter of the WC particles. |
