PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a delay time in a video distribution system easily at low cost.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for measuring a delay time in a video distribution system 1 comprising a camera 2, a transmission device 3 which transmits video photographed by the camera 2, a receiving device 5 which receives the video from the transmission device via a network 4 and a display device 6 which displays the video received by the receiving device. A picture is taken by the camera so that part of a display section 6a of the display device is imaged in part of the shot video, a cyclic video 31 which changes in a fixed cycle is inserted into the shot video, and the video having had the cyclic video inserted therein is transmitted to the receiving device for display by the display device. A cyclic video 31b which is displayed on the display section imaged in the displayed video and a cyclic video 31a which is displayed in the displayed video except the display section are matched in phase by altering the cycle of the inserted cyclic video. The cycle of the cyclic videos as of the time they matched in phase is detected as a delay time. |
