PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor that minimizes variability of maximum radius thereof while preventing scatter of fragments of permanent magnets or the like, and to provide a rotary electric machine having the same.SOLUTION: A rotor 4 includes: a rotor core 22; a plurality of permanent magnets 23 that are circumferentially arranged at intervals in an outer circumferential surface 22a of the rotor core 22; and a resin holder 24 that fixes the permanent magnets 23 to the outer circumferential surface 22a of the rotor core 22. The resin holder 24 has: a plurality of arms 31 that are arranged between respective adjacent pairs of the permanent magnets 23; and a cylindrical cover 32 that is formed integrally with the arms 31 and covers the permanent magnets 23 from the outer circumference. In each arm 31, holding projections 35 are formed that are elastically deformable and project toward the permanent magnets 23 arranged adjacent to the arm 31 on both circumferential sides thereof. Each permanent magnet 23 is fixed to the outer circumferential surface 22a of the rotor core 22 by being sandwiched from two circumferential sides thereof by the holding projections 35 arranged on the two circumferential sides thereof and being pressed against the rotor core 22. |
