PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit printed matter permitting the order of printing to be accurately restored to be prepared when printing is performed on pieces of paper likely to fall into disorder.SOLUTION: A printer 1 prints an end mark M1 in a blank portion behind an end-of-printing line at the end of paper when detecting a near end condition where the remaining quantity of recording paper 16 reaches a quantity not larger than a set remaining quantity, and subsequently transfers the paper to a point where the end mark M1 gets exposed to the outside of an paper ejection opening 9, stops the transfer operation of the recording paper 16, and shifts to an offline mode. When the paper is changed to continue printing, the printer prints a leading mark M2 corresponding to the end mark M1 printed just before in a portion above a start-of-printing line in the head of the next recording paper 16 before resuming printing of reserved print data. |
