PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railroad turnout and a tongue rail for the railroad turnout capable of reducing a maintenance amount accompanying the wear of a rail or the like and preventing derailment of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A tongue rail 10 of a railroad turnout 1 has a planar shape that a width dimension becomes smaller toward one end 10a adjacent to a stock rail 20 from the other end 10b, and a first inclined surface 10c whose height dimension becomes smaller toward one end (distal end) 10a from the other end (rear end) 10b and a second inclined surface 10c which is continued to the side of the distal end 10a of the first inclined surface and whose height dimension becomes smaller toward the distal end 10a are formed by vertical shaving. Then, a vertical shaving start point 10e to start the vertical shaving to the tongue rail 10 is set on a distal end side of the tongue rail 10. In this embodiment, the vertical shaving start point 10e is set at the part of 3,400 mm from the distal end 10a of the tongue rail 10. |
