PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate a sulfur component and selenium from waste water containing the sulfur component and selenium at a low cost.SOLUTION: A method for treating a sulfur component- and selenium-containing waste water includes a first pH adjusting process for adding a pH adjuster A1 to waste water W1 to adjust the pH of the waste water W1 to ≥1.0 and <7.0, a sulfur component adsorbing process for bringing the pH adjusted waste water W3 into contact with a clay mineral C or the like as a sulfur component adsorbent, a second pH adjusting process for adding a pH adjustor A2 to the waste water L1 after the adsorption of the sulfur component to adjust the pH of the waste water L1 to a pH of ≥1.0 and <4.5 and a selenium adsorbing process for bringing the waste water L2 adjusted in pH in the second pH adjusting process into contact with a selenium adsorbent. The waste water (slurry) W3 obtained in the sulfur component adsorbing process is subjected to solid-liquid separation to obtain a sulfur component-containing solid component CA and a selenium-containing liquid component L1 and, after pH adjustment, the selenium containing liquid component L1 may be brought into contact with the selenium adsorbent. |
